About the league

Premium feel. Community scale. Real structure.

Boater League is a nonprofit 5v5 outdoor turf soccer league built for adults in Tucson who want organized play without the chaos of open pickup or the cost of overbuilt club culture.

Matches run with boards and walls in play, flying substitutions, and a clear referee standard. Teams are formed from a centralized draft pool so nights stay competitive and balanced. Limited registration keeps the league tight: eight teams, ten weeks, every side guaranteed two playoff weeks.

Ten weeks. Eight teams. One clear path.

Why play

Built for people who care how the night feels.

Not a feature grid — the reasons players stay: structure you can trust, games that stay fair, and a room that still feels like Tucson soccer.

01

Fair teams, on purpose

A centralized draft builds balanced sides. You get competitive matches without stacking, clique lockouts, or week-one mismatches that kill the season.

02

Boards, pace, and atmosphere

Outdoor turf with walls in play keeps the ball alive and the night sharp. Flying subs, clear restart logic, and a facility that looks like a real match environment.

03

Standards without the ego

Zero-tolerance dissent. Captain-only referee clarification. Yellow and red cards with real power-play consequences. Competitive, respectful, enforceable.

04

Kit, community, limited spots

Custom jerseys, nonprofit framing, and capped registration. Season One is meant to feel intentional — not like another open Facebook group with cones.

Rules

How the game is run

Scannable operational rules — not a wall of text. Full legal waiver lives with registration; this is match night structure.

5v5 outdoor turf soccer. Competitive, structured, ages 18+.

In-play boards, walls, and mesh netting are part of the facility. The ball stays alive off the boards unless otherwise whistled under dead-ball / restart rules.

  • Flying substitutions are permitted.
  • Dead-ball situations follow indirect free kick logic as defined by league officiating standards.

Board-pinning is a safety violation. Players must not trap or force opponents dangerously against the boards or walls.

  • Zero-tolerance dissent policy.
  • Automatic discipline escalation for misconduct.
  • Standings penalties may apply for repeated or severe misconduct.

Only the team captain may approach the referee for clarification during stoppages.

  • Yellow card: 2-minute power play for the opposing team.
  • Red card: 5-minute hard penalty and ejection.

  • Week 9: semi-finals.
  • Week 10: finals and placement night.
  • Every team is guaranteed two playoff weeks.

FAQ

Straight answers
